I think "The complete book of Chess strategy" is a primer to just that,Chess strategy. Now maybe the title is a bit misleading, "The complete book of Chess strategy",as a matter of fact it is because this book just scratches the surface of Chess strategy but for me that's good enough but that's what I wanted,it is not however "complete" in any way,one can argue that a whole set of books can be written on each element of Chess strategy he has in this book.I was looking for a book that would give me a definition or tell me what the basic Chess Strategy elements/devices are and this book does that for me. I think some sections are a bit too short, I think in some sections he should have gone into a bit more depth,the "Planning" section is one that I can think of off the top of my head but I'm sure there are more.However I'm not at all disappointed with the book,I haven't read it from cover to cover,I'm just skipping around in it right now. I did learn something from it today and I'm happy enough with that,what did I learn? the minority attack,I looked this up before a while back on youtube but I had forgot about it,and I looked it up again today in this book and well there it was,he had a couple of pages on it,so I played over the moves on my Chessboard. Here is what I learned:I learned that the "Minority Attack" is when 2 pawns on the Queenside attack 3 pawns on the opponent's Queenside,now normally it would seem like the side with 2 pawns is outnumbered and the side with the extra pawn should win. It's not that simple though,the side with 3 pawns,actually gets saddled with a weak pawn on c6 (from white's perspective,meaning white is the one deliving the "minority attack"),also C5 might become a weak square in Black's camp,meaning that would be a great home for a knight or a Bishop. The idea I think is that,as I said White saddles Black with a weak pawn,that pawn,later,then becomes a target,or an object of attack by White. Now you probably won't need to know about these things until you reach a certain level in Chess,which I'm not at yet,I'm at the,I need to keep drilling tactics stage. :) I mean but I think that it's still good to know and I learned something from this book,which to me suggests that I got my moneys worth and I think you would to if you sit down with your Chessboard and carefully and slowly go over som eof the examples in this book.So yeah I mean,this book is good enough for me,it's nice to know that you know what a minority attack is or overprotection or any element covered in this book,when you see them in your own games or when you see them in a game that you're going over,such as in a game collection etc.However those looking for a more deep study of Chess strategy should look elsewhere,perhaps you can try his (Jeremy Silman) "Reassess your Chess" or his Endgame book,you can't go wrong with either one. Also there are other good Chess strategy books out there as well,that go into indepth study. On the other hand if you're looking for a brief introduction to some of the seemingly myriads of Chess strategical elements and 1 or 2 examples for each one,then this book is for you,so it all comes down to what you're looking for.

Some of the chapters, especially, the early ones about the opening strategies can be rather confusing because the author provides only meager explanations. In these chapters, it is as though he reveals random thoughts and expects the reader to understand what he meant by just filling in the blanks. It is an extensive book that provides numerous abbreviated examples of tactical and strategic scenarios, but one might have to struggle to understand why and how they are good or bad. Reading and working through the entire book, it certainly has so many topics covered that I am sure it will help me learn enough to justify my buying it.

Very good book for the chess enthusiast and even better for the chess beginner. there are many ways to play chess and this approach is only one (or several) ways. It teaches a way of visualizing the board and using the information gained to plan (and change) your game strategy.

First off, this isn't a book that you can read and then know everything about chess. This breaks down countless opening, middle game, end game, check, traps, forks, pins, and so on==scenarios and not only explains the pro's and con's of each, but then names them and gives strategy to use against. So this is a book that you STUDY and refer to on a constant basis.I've seen movies where some guy is in his office, smoking a pipe, and as he is being questioned, he walks over to the chess board and studies it, then moves a piece. I could never understand why anyone---in a movie or not--would want to play chess by themselves. Then I got this book.I tried to read it and then realized it was futile. I got out my chess board, unrolled it and set it up. Now as I read the book, I follow along with the board. I am only lacking the pipe, lol. (and the white hair).This is a great book, and it shows you why a grandmaster is such a highly regarded and difficult title to obtain. Its not by being "good" at chess, but its done by studying and knowing every situation, move, position and how to respond to each. I saw a movie about "finding a ---famous chess player--- (amazon removes review that name people or things by name) Anyway, this person was in this movie just in short clips. And when he went to Iceland to play a russian in a very famous match, it showed him with his notes, basically he had a notebook full of chessboards he drew, with pieces in different places, along with words I assume explaining or reminding him of various things to do, not to do, or to consider trying. It can be as simple or as complex as anyone wants it to be. The amazing thing? This book is full of these things, and there are books written--entire books written about some of the things in this book. So this is by no means a final treatise on chess. Its a very good one and good for most players but to experienced players, its an introduction! Amazing.I assume thats why chess has been around for what 6-7 centuries? Impressive

Wonderful! It is more than I expected with one exception. It seems to have a bit of a lack in pictures. A few more pictures to help show us what's going on would've helped me a bit more, but if you take chess seriously enough you can just test out the strategies yourself. What I like about it is simply that if you're new to chess, it explains some of the core concepts which can help you formulate better strategies. Kind of like chess theory. Ha. Anyways, I would recommend this book to anyone.

This book has nice insights into the chess pieces which can be useful for drawing real applications or wisdom.

While this does not qualify as great literature, it is certainly a wake-up call about the cost of cybercrime to the economy and security of the United States. Hall, a former federal prosecutor, faults the system for going for the easy convictions rather the linchpins that keep crimes going. You quickly understand why our prisons are filled up drug-related criminals. Interspersed with the main story line are some great anecdotes of other prosecutions Hall was involved in before leaving the system. While at times the detailed descriptions of the software programs involved can go on a bit long (for those of us not into computer programming), most the book is very readable with little computer background.When you finish the book, your main thought will be that you hope someone in Washington, D.C. has read it, too. If we have the creativity to design these sophisticated programs that so many other countries want, then we should also have the creativity to be more protective of these powerful tools and see that they aren't used against us.

I enjoyed seeing into what happens inside an investigation like that. The low rating is because it feels like it was pumped up a bit by lists of software products and by short digressions on other cases. They were too short to be interesting but combined made the book a lot longer than it should have been. I'd like to see something else by the same author that was a bit more broad about his career.

This book is pretty interesting if you are interested in why more "Mr. Big" cases are not prosecuted while we have an abundance of small criminals at the end of the supply chain in prison. The author refers to this as "fast food" because these prosecutions are quick and easily. Most importantly they make the statistics look good. This is an area of piracy I ever really thought about (pay piracy) so that was an interesting new angle on the topic. You will have to take a few parts, especially the authors fetish with conflating private economic piracy with the Chinese government's goals, with appropriate grains of salt but overall I would recommend this.

TOO MUCH "filler".The story the author has to tell takes up only about a third of the book, the rest is his quoting OTHER stories.Let's face it, I'm (the reader of today) NOT interested in the other guys story, I bought your book to read YOUR story...it's a shame you puffed it up with fluff from the other guy!

Crack99 is a look at the proper lengths U.S. law enforcement will go to protect the property rights of U.S. citizens and companies. A must-read for anyone with an interest in the fields of Intellectual Property, CyberSecurity, Software Piracy, or just seeing the Good Guys Prevail.

I learned a lot about our friends the Chinese. How this was done, the sting, the set up, is all made very clear. This is an easy read, and my only criticism is the author expounds a little on personal beliefs.

This book provided information about Software Pirates that I had no insight into or existence. I think that activity represents a huge problem for security of the USA. I hope more positive actions are directed at solving the problems.

David Hall's book does a good job describing how political the federal attorney's job is. Kudos to him for writing this very readable book and hats off to him for going after the "hard" cases instead of the low hanging fruit that is so prevalent in today's politicized DoJ.

Unfortunately, it is more booklet than book with extra large fonts, page sized bullet points, and 10 pages of advertisements!Your money is better spent on the DVD or Messy Church book!

This is the best beginners guide I have ever read. It is short, to the point, and encouraging. I love it!

Carter and Lacey have certainly had their ups and downs, all the way back to when they were in high school. The first part of their story, The Lying Game, ended with Lacey moving from Chicago to New York in order to pursue her dancing career, along with her good friend and fellow dancer, Lance. But just when she thinks she's put Carter in the rearview mirror and decides that she’s moving on with her life, Carter turns back up. He may be an all-star basketball pro, but his personal life has been shaken to its foundation and he really needs Lacey's help and support.Having read the first book in this duet, I was eager to read the early copy of this one. If you read my review of The Lying Game, you know I was somewhat unimpressed with Carter's behavior and expected great things from him if he was to redeem himself. Well, he certainly delivered in this book! Don’t get me wrong, there was still plenty of angst with the push and pull and the ups and downs between Carter and Lacey, but the payoff of them finally getting their forever together made it worth all the drama and emotion. The epilogues alone made this book worth reading but the rest of the story was certainly entertaining. And did I mention steamy? I definitely suggest reading both books together, and if you like a sexy sports romance that will tug on your heart and tickle your funny bone, you’ll enjoy escaping into Carter and Lacey's world.*I reviewed this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide a review and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.

The first book was great, fantastic, amazing. I couldn’t wait for the second book to come out. Now I hate myself for paying for it. The author claimed the book would be released late because he/she was traveling and wanted to make sure it was properly edited. Crock of ;@:$. If I typed with my feet I’d make fewer typos. And the cheesy turn? I rolled my eyes and wanted to immediately close the book; I thought it would get better. It didn’t though, and I’m dumb and have too much time, apparently, because I kept reading. Thanks for ruining a perfectly good first story with the second and all of the typos.

Oh my! Where do I start? This was one fantastic read. I absolutely loved it. It seriously had it all. Danger. Anger. Hate. And love. I was so glad Dave (Lacy's dad) did a complete turn around. It wouldn't be the same without him. I think it would have devastated Lacy if it went south. I absolutely loathed Katherine (Social Media Consultant). She rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning. I could feel deceit coming from her. And I was right. She is evil.I enjoyed the relationship between Lacy and Carter. Though it took them a seriously long time to say I love you. I'm so glad Carter never gave up. And I am happy that Lacy didn't give in. She stood up for herself.

The End Game is the second book in The Game Duet by Mickey Miller. The first book, The Lying Game must be read first, as this is a continuation of the first book in the duet. After that ending, I was both excited and scared to get my hands on this book. How would it all end?It was easy to imagine Carter and Lacy’s story over after that ending in The Lying Game. How could they ever move forward? But their journey is far from over and definitely not an easy one. Could Carter show Lacy how much he loves her? Could Lacy open her heart to Carter ever again? With so many hurdles between them, could they ever truly find their happily ever after? I was at the edge of my seat throughout the entire story!The End Game by Mickey Miller was emotional, steamy and full of angst. Carter and Lacy are full of regret and longing, but also a lot of chemistry. I loved all their interactions! I saw a lot of growth in both characters, but especially Carter. This was a story that will pull at your heart and captivate you!Happy reading!

The End Game is the second in the Game Duet and the conclusion of Carter and Lacy’s story. They have had one hell of a long ride from high school sweethearts to now. It has been a ride with many ups and downs, heartbreak, and drama with a few twists to keep it interesting. You willbe rooting for them to find their happy ending but at the same time they will frustrate you and have you wanting to shake some sense into them both. It is obvious that both Carter and Lacy want to be together but they seem to find a way to take the most difficult road possible. In the end, the crazy road they traveled will be all worth it.This is another hit for Mickey Miller!

I loved Carter's and Lacey's HEA ending - but make no mistake, it's not a quick journey. Carter has to work to prove himself. Be sure to read "The Lying Game" first and then be glad you don't have to wait to read the conclusion. I also love the cameos from characters in previous books. I don't know about anyone else, but I grow to love my favorite characters and am always glad to see them pop up in a story.The author has released another great book - I always one-click Mickey Miller's books because I know I'll be turning pages as fast as I can to figure out where things are headed.

This story has danger, angst, mistrust, hate and love. Lacey moves to New York from Chicago to work in a dance company and Carter does not commit so she decides to move on. While Lacey works on moving on, Carter works on his issues and has real growth and realizes he wants Lacy. In doing so he puts her in danger .with out realizing it. This is the second book in The Game Duet. The Lying Game being the first and should be read first I could not put either book down. Highly recommend both.

This is the second part of the Love Game duet and picks up where book #1, the Lying Game ended. This book had drama, humor, heartbreak, angst, and love ..all the things I love in a great story. Carter and Lacey's chemistry is off the charts and their scenes together are sizzling! It's obvious that they belong together, and they face many obstacles along their way. This was such an amazing story and another great hit by Mickey Miller!!I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy.
