I have been using several of the Look Fabulous Forever products for over two years and have been very pleased with them. I also enjoy Tricia’s blog so it was only natural that I would want to read her book. She shared wonderful ideas about positive ways to enjoy the third act of your life. Her ideas on exercise made me look at it in a different light. Now instead of thinking of it as something dreadful I view it as a way to improve the quality of the life that I have left which could be 20 or more years. I think everyone could benefit for her experience, research and personal wisdom. I would highly recommend this book.

Tricia does a great job empowering mature women to feel good about themselves. She is a true inspiration. I love her make-up tutorials and her products are wonderful.

I assumed this book would be filled with clever tips and tricks for aging gracefully. As her YouTube videos are fabulous. Sadly it was just mediocre read not a lot of new information.

This is my second year following Tricia Cusden, and using her ‘Look Young Forever’ products. I had been unhappy with my makeup. I did all the right things, cleansed, conditioned my skin and I have good genes, but my makeup was not looking the best. Somehow I happened upon Tricia’s YouTube video, and decided to purchase some of her products. They arrived in a very stylish silver bag, and the next day I started using her products. Oh, boy, was I ever surprised. If you could only purchase one product, I would suggest the Silk Face Prime. Your face does indeed feel like silk, and your foundation glides on. I also found her video instructions to be more than helpful. I am a convert to her products, and I only use her products.Tricia’s Book is very helpful. Everything she has related in her videos and more is encapsulated in this book. I would suggest starting at the first page and reading right through, but you can skip to chapters that may fill your needs. This is the first time since my twenties when I feel that I really look good. My face glows, and the colors I have chosen all compliment each other. I have also become more daring in my clothing colors, and the lines of clothing I purchase. I wear foundation almost every time I go out. On rare occasions I will apply the Face Prime and cheek blush, freshen my eyebrows, and go out for a walk or some exercise or to the market. In this book, you will glean ideas on how to present yourself at your most glorious best, and you will feel better about yourself.Growing older is not for sissies, they say, and we can feel our best. The women Tricia presents in the photos are real women looking their best, or just learning to prepare their faces to look their best which results in feeling better. I know what colors look best on me, what shape I am, and how to choose clothing that best suits my shape. I receive Tricia’s email letters and suggestions and new product selections. It is very easy to select your products, the products themselves are very attractive in their containers, and they arrive via mail quickly. I like it better than the volume 1. It appears that the authors have taken more time to get the information, not just accurate. but also easier to digest. One of complains about volume1 was lack of illustrations. This book has many more illustrations, graphs and block diagrams to assist with the understanding of the structure of software modules. Such a structure illustration does replace 1000 words.Windows Internals version 6 remains to-date the best internals book and has not yet been replaced by the next edition.It is obvious that this book does not repeat information from Volume 1, I am simply commenting on the impression I have after reading both. And because this book, as a source of information, is a supplement to an earlier less friendly volume I give it only 4 stars.

The reason for the caveat is that the writer makes a lot of assumptions about the level of knowledge of the reader. If you have a good understanding about operating systems and are looking for more detailed information about the Windows specific implementation then this is a great book and exactly what you are looking for. If you are not that knowledgeable about operating systems you are going to spend a great deal of time looking things up and your progress through the book will be greatly hampered.

A must have for anyone who troubleshoots in a Windows-based environment on a daily basis. Couldn't ask for a better reference.

Needed something updated over my older Win 7 reference that specifically talks about the internal tools. If you tried to find this info on Microsoft's page, you'd have to do a little digging. This puts it all in one place!

What else can I say? This is my ultimate reference book on Windows (I'm referring to Parts 1 and 2). I source this before Microsoft TechNet or the Web because chances are what I'm looking for is there and I can find it quicker than online sourcing.

Digital edition suffers from bad picture quality. The contents is excellent. I use it time to time, only when I need deeper dive into specific area. I usually find answers 80-90% times. I recommend for professionals and advanced.

There is no other book like this for knowing how really things work inside Windows, not for beginers of course but it is a source of knowledge for either both troubleshooters and developers.

Russinovich has the patience to track the evolution of NT from its origins in VMS. You won't write drivers or services from these books, but you'll understand the rationale guiding the developers. The details are in the "SDK"s. These two volumes (used to be one), are what you want to understand what the architects intended. David Solomon was part of the DEC team from which NT was spawned. I am going to be very blunt and direct in my review of this book, so buckle up...The ONLY reason I bought the paperback rather than the kindle was to support the author because I know him and wanted to support him. Honestly, I did not have very high expectations but wanted to give it a chance because this novel is also in my favorite genre: historical fiction.Again, I really did not know what to expect, I thought that maybe I would partially enjoy this book. I happily admit that I was WRONG!!! I was hooked into this story from the onset, I immediately felt as if I were there with the protagonist, my mind's eye very quickly began the mental picture...no...movie... of everything as it played out... and this feeling lasted throughout the duration of this book. I quickly came to hate to antagonist and their band of flunkies...Mr. Davis' writing style is magnificent, the transitions between narrators within the chapters are flawless and the evolution between events have a natural flow that make this a very good read. He even went as far as to maintain the integrity of the era by using Latin terminology on some things. Have no fear, there is a glossary in the back that will interpret those words and terms into modern English. However, you won't use that for long because the style of writing will allow you to immediately know what is being talked about without having to flip to the back of the book.Furthermore, Mr. Davis uses his military experience and knowledge a great deal in the story where appropriate, which is phenomenal (I've read books where the author tries to emulate military life and all I can do is shake my head and think... "Nope"). The only regret I have about this book is that it ended, and it's an ending that leaves you thirsting for more... I look forward, with exuberance, to the next installment of this series.This young man is going places within the literary world.

This is an excellent book by a new author on the scene. I really enjoyed it. The people and world of ancient Rome really come alive in the pagers of this book. Before you know it, you are so immersed that you feel like you personally know each of the characters and find yourself living, laughing, hoping and crying with them. Did not want to put the book down once I had started reading it and can't wait for the next in the series!

Sublime. I felt like I was there, following these men and their lives. It was written in such a personal manner that I couldn't help but be drawn into the political intrigue, and the machinations of the Roman empire.I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.This book really does make me appreciate that I am not a politician! I don't think much has changed over the last few millennia!I loved that the author put a glossary at the back of the book, which I found particularly helpful.

It is two a.m. as I post this. I just finished reading an excellent new novel by Vincent B. Davis II, a fresh, new talent with the ability to engage the reader completely, taking them back to a fascinating time in history, the Great Roman Empire. The title of the book is The Man With Two Names. I was amazed at the author's knowledge of the lifestyle of this long ago time, and his thorough research shines in the details encompassed throughout the book. Not a history lesson, but a very easily flowing story with characters of great depth. They demonstrate his understanding of a soldier's life, which is timeless, be it several years ago or several centuries ago. Morals tend to withstand the ages. I eagerly am awaiting his next novel.

Davis II brought the Roman time period to life for the modern reader. He captured the realities and ideals of the army, and appropriately so, since he has served his country as well, which I found out in the author bio. However, in a few instances, the story pacing jarred me right off the page, but I climbed back into the story to find out what would happen. Overall, I enjoyed experiencing Rome through Quintus and Lucius.If you are intrigued by Roman history, The Man With Two Names is for you.

I actually felt the Rome of antiquity. Real life in a turbulent world of class domination and a place where courage, self-doubt and fear of not being able to realize ones' own destiny amidst power, greed and corruption are well detailed. All who are looking for a read that is both entertaining and has the feeling of realism and attention to historical fact NEED to get this book. Now.

The book is one I could not put down. It was done purely by excellent writing without recourse to violence. The war against the Germanic tribes only begins close to the end of the novel. I can't wait for the sequel.

As a few others have mentioned, this book really isn't for beginners, I'm very tech savvy and work in IT but have never been in the SQL world before, this book should have been a slam dunk to help get me comfortable but it wasn't.In the early chapters where the basic setups of the sample DB are discussed there are huge swaths of data that just isn't given to the reader and a "new to DB" user has no idea where the author is going or how to handle the steps. This lack of ramp up in the creation of the samples should be where we start using the building blocks of database construction instead of frustrating the new user.As a book for beginners with other DB expereince it would be a 5-star book, for users that are just being introduced to databases it's a 2. possibly even a 1 in my book.

This book is a excellent beginner's guide for any DBA or SQL Developer. It gets you started at a level that is easy to understand but yet comprehensive of the SQL Server 2012 suite of tools/apps. Yet it also deep enough that it is a excellent reference and does offer medium level material as well for more experience developers or DBAs.Great book, must have for your technical library.

I picked up this book after being asked if I knew MDX/SSAS which I did not. I went through this book with out any difficulties. I will say that I do have SSIS/SSRS experience and a high-level overview of SSAS so not all of the terms and ideas where new to me so that might have helped me. The book takes you through real world scenarios which I love more than non-pertinent examples in most books.If you want a great intro into BI I suggest checking this book out.

I think I'm going to be using this book for quite a while. It's not so big and chock full of publisher's fluff, it's concise and informative. I can actually sit and read this one without falling asleep. And I learn something every time I read it.

Bought this for a new hire with limited SQL experience. Is a well written book and explains topics well. Originally bought the Apress publishing equivalent. This is a much better easier to read book for a beginner DBA.

Much more than a "beginner's" guide, experienced programmers can also learn from this. I think it is misnamed, but it is a good book.

Clear and concise text, good examples and exercises. Covers everything I needed to know to start working with SQL Server and Management Studio and to reach a level of SQL competence that will allow me to write all the queries I need.

As good as his other books, I'll keep buying them as they come out.

The book is like a step by step how to catch a thief novel. The most interesting parts are the fact that at the start of the entire investigation is a dossier by that same Christopher Steele that we have all heard about. Steele didn't start it, but the FBI starts listening after Steele's information comes to them. The books shows how the FBI goes about its job; check, double check and check again. Don't rush anything. How to put pressure on an conspirator without letting him know that he is an object of interest. It also shows how difficult it is to work with countries who have governments that feel pressure from their rich and powerful and those like Switzerland who don't care where the money in their bank vaults comes from, just so it stays there. Well-written, something that everyone with an opinion on the Russian probe should read.

How to catch a thief and intrigue all in one, wrapped around the world’s favorite sport. If you ever wondered why male athletes get paid so much, look no further. Lessons for all. Page turner even if you don’t like soccer. And, even with such a large roster of real characters, I never got lost - true test of an excellent writer.

If one is a fan of soccer or of its organizational ins and outs, this book is a real eye-opener. It shows in detail how American agencies (including the FBI and IRS) ferreted out and set forth the corruption in the game, which is rampant at every level. It will make the reader furious at how little the players, who after all, do all the work in making the game so popular, get very little of the rewards while so-called organizers skim and scam their way to great illegal wealth.

There's nothing better than a non-fiction story so dramatic and so filled with jaw-dropping details that you wouldn't believe it if it were fiction. Ken Bensinger weaves amazing details of hubris, greed and corruption, a determined search for justice by an IRS agent of all people, and the history of FIFA into a compelling narrative that never slows down. I have zero interest in soccer but I loved this book and highly recommend it.

This is a very easy read on the complex network of corruption established many years ago in FIFA, the world soccer organization. The author has been very successful in presenting the characters and situations that are historical as if it were a work of fiction. Congrats!

Even if you are not into Football (Soccer) or any other sport, this story of bribery (100s of millions), deceit, audacity, and above all, downright criminal behavior will facinate you. The author writes eloquently in a language that is eaisly followed. The narrative examines the people behind the sport and most importantly FIFA. It details the cooperation of the U.S Justice Department, the IRS, and the FBI that was needed to get to the bottom and top of this gross injustice which has beeen on going for many years. An excelllent read.

A captivating story of how FIFA turned from a humble sports governing body to an international crime syndicate, it goes deep into the motivations of the criminals and the cops. The characters come from all over the world and their stories are well worth reading. After reading this, it'll be tough for me to watch the beautiful game without thinking about all the sleaze behind it.

It is difficult to write a review that is worthy of the greatness of this book. Poetically written, each essay is uniquely beautiful. It astonishes me to read a book from so long ago that is still so relevant today. I wish I could go back and have conversations with Emerson and Thoreau. Imagine the conversations they had with each other! It took me a while to read this, but it was important to me to take my time and understand each point he was making. This is the kind of book that one should reference throughout life. Emerson reminds us to trust in our soul above everything and let its force shine through. Only then will our lives have meaning.

Give this as a gift to your favorite nonconformist, the person who is unique and walks to their own drummer. It will make it easier for them to breathe in this world.

I've not been an avid reader most of my life. At 70 years and now retired I'm trying to catch up and have a strong desire to read the classics which have deep insights into life. This was not an easy book for me to read -- I read it slowly and tried to digest each chapter. There were several occasions where I got it! It took some effort I my part and I'm pleased I read it. I look forward to reading others by Emerson..

Paperback version is bad. How can amazon sell this without checking first ?- page numbers are in random places on the page, not in the footer; looks like it was printed from a html- chapter title starts on the last row of the page- the book ends abruptly in the middle of the sentence,- not all chapters from the table of contents are in the book!

There are very few writers who have ever imparted more wisdom I so few words. If Thomas Jefferson is the spirit of America then Ralph Waldo Emerson was its soul. A person who reads the words of Emerson cannot help but be haunted by the feeling of an eternal season of spring infused with the eternal sadness of life's inevitable end. Emerson is required reading for all thoughtful men and women. This particular book is excellent and no one looking to purchase Emerson's work in the kindle format should hesitate to purchase it.

I had this on my wish list for a couple of years, and was really looking forward to it. I have bought many Dover Thrift editions before, but beware. It is completely the luck of the draw. Some are very nice, and usable. Others are like, well, this one. I may try to read it, but also may just consent to find a more user friendly copy. Sorry Dover...love you guys!
